slips into slumber.That light breeze, setting
the sweet scented grass
ablaze in a majestic waltz.
A sea of billowing emerald.

I felt it all. The coolness,
the sharp pricks upon
my cold kissed cheeks.
I am still alive. Why?

Alive once more. Like some mad
reincarnate process gone awry.
Same body. Same memories.
Nothing's changed.

The somber song of the Nightingale
breaks the still silence; I am awake.
It's all so clear now. I remember it all,
down to the most minute of details.

The fault was mine and mine alone. It
was never yours. I was so blind. You
were the victim, not me. I was the
root of this madness, deliverer of pain.

Pain. Pain.
A
the insomniac...So many days spent in torment.
Those sleepless nights, tossing
and turning over
a cold, drenched pillow.

The silence. That was it.
Slippery 'neath my grasp,
I couldn't push it away.
I died that night.

I placed the blame on you.
Twisted my already gnarled
logic and placed it all upon you.
I was free. I could finally rest.

That was the end. Or so I thought...
albiet.I must be honest.

Expression,  breathing
life to emotions in words,
were never my forte.

I opened my mouth to say
one thing, but something
else escaped these lips.

Never saying what I wanted to say.

I hate you...
I love you...

Yes.
No.

I struggled each day,
wanting to speak from
my pained heart.

It's all changed now.
I've become a different person.
These things come easier to me.

But it's too late.

The bronze bell breaks the still silence--
my train of thought with it. I face
forward, eyes toward the altar.

Softly, slowly, shoes shuffle somberly.
Fragrant floral sprays--sickeningly sweet--
they're tossed down... downw
